BROADCAST JOURNALISM
Journalism has exposed me to many mediums of visual expression, one being video editing. Through Hatchie Headlines' broadcast segments as well as accompanying promotion edits for articles I write, I am able to fine-tune communication and creative skills with new techniques including real-life interviews, editing, and recording. Along with photography and design, multimedia is another great way to present information in a way that will entice audiences. Visual stories can be captivating and appeal to a majority of viewers. Using multimedia to promote articles is also a great way to foster interest among your readers.
"Student Book Choice" segment for Hatchie Headlines' January 2022 broadcast
For this "Student Book Choice" segment, I experimented with more moving elements. After collecting my interview from the featured student, I proceeded to animate the books she listed. My goal was to make our broadcast more interactive through the use of bright colors and text/vector animations.
